Michael invited me over last night for some French onion soup which was perfect for 46 degree Santa Cruz weather. It was pretty good, but I'm not really a big fan of French onion soup. For one, Michael cooked with way too much alcohol in the broth. He didn't just stop at half a bottle of champagne, but also poured a couple shots of COGNAC in the pot. I could've sworn I had a good buzz during dinner. I know alcohol boils out when you cook with it, but I don't think Michael kept that in mind and just dumped a bunch of booze in there towards the end of the stewing.

Now I can say that I've finally gotten drunk off eating French Onion Soup.
