According to my last weigh in, I lost 3 lbs. since April 4! Two weeks of religiously hitting the gym and cutting out fast food/refined carbs/sugar and incorporating my protein has definitely paid off. It's a slow but gradual change. Keeping a diary has definitely shown me what a huge step it is to really mentally prepare yourself for a long road ahead of cutting weight. My first reaction when I stepped on the scale was, "what the hell?! All that work just to lose 3 lbs?! What a bunch of horse shit!" but honestly speaking, it's a HUGE deal...it's a big difference. You just have to be stubborn and keep this up if you want to see some real changes. I have to learn to stick with it, and I am determined that I will! Logging in what I eat every day has really made the biggest impact so far...because I physically log in everything I put in my mouth, it's easier for me to feel guilty if I say that I broke down and had some french fries. Keeping a diary has helped me realize how much I was overeating in the past because I didn't think about it. Once I put it in my mouth, I forgot how much I was putting in my body. It's good to keep count and make sure you aren't eating more than you need to.
I took for granted how much I was able to eat because I was swimming 4 hours every day, and your diet is literally 3/4 of your battle through weight loss. It really truly is. Weight loss comes from what you eat, and it was such a tough challenge because I'm a huge foodie, but I'm starting to overcome it. I feel better and I can feel myself getting stronger. I don't feel as sluggish anymore, which is awesome for me. I can put in more hours at the gym because my stamina has improved. Woohoo!
Let's keep this up!
