I had a pretty fantastic 3 day weekend. After I turned in my last paper (before finals) on Friday, I was ready to let loose for once. After the miracle that happened with my grandmother, I was ready to celebrate and just be grateful to live life once again. It was really hard wanting to move on or feel anymore emotions or excitement after the tragedy, but knowing that there is hope, I am back to finishing off my final few weeks of college stronger than ever.
Friday the swim team and I went to the beach. I still didn't cliff jump. I'm way too scared. But one of these days...I definitely will. It is a bucket list. I WILL MAKE IT HAPPEN.
Friday night we invited a few friends over for dinner and cocktails. John bought this awesome cocktail recipe poster online for like 50 cents or so back in October and we never once tried the dozens of recipes on the poster ever. Dana and I had the house to ourselves and decided to host a cocktail party. It was so great. I got way too hammered because those fruity drinks I made (we eventually just threw in random things together that we thought would taste great when we started running out and had to resort to using substitutions) and they snuck up. Hard. I found out the difficult way. You don't taste the alcohol so you literally just throw them back like soda. I had a horrible headache by the end of the night, but at least the drinks were fantastic. I think I really have a knack for this. Maybe I'll go to bartending school after I graduate...hm...
Saturday I went to brunch with Nick and Thomas, or as Thomas likes to refer to us as, the PPC, the Pop Punk Crew, or the Sloth Crew. (Good heavens) Then we decided to make plans to drive to the city later that night just for shits and gigs. At 2 PM I met up with Michael and Erica and we went on a 3 hour adventure hike by Highway 9 to find the Garden of Eden. No dice, but at least we found the creek. It was absolutely beautiful. I think I'm down to go back and have a picnic before I graduate.
Saturday night we decided to drive to Oakland and Berkeley to visit Homeroom (this restaurant that has amazing 100 types of mac and cheese) and my favorite, CREAM. We picked up Josanne and JM on the way on a complete whim. We even hit the city and walked around the wharf. We got home at 2 AM. I was so tired. I was completely whipped from those full days of activities.
Sunday I went to church, then took a 3 hour nap because I was so tired from this past week. Then there was that EE party and it was just a completely shit show. Mish is always a shit show, but I've already learned from it. What I also learned from the party was that girls will always start drama and never learn to get away from it. I'm glad I just stay away from all of that. Who needs that? Nobody. Nobody can ever have a good time on this team, I swear.
Monday, Memorial day. We had Tom and a couple of his friends play a mini concert in our backyard. It was just an all day BBQ with 6 different bands playing all day long. It was like a mini Lollapalooza, it was so great. A lot of people showed up which was awesome, and plus our house didn't get that messy! I was greatly relieved.
Drafts are due tomorrow for Fish Rap and I still haven't written my piece. But I guess I can sleep on it, find some inspiration in the morning, and crank one out. Except, I have the meeting tomorrow night plus a screening for my LTWL class. Ugh...I already told the professor that Thursday nights are my only nights to make it! What the hell!
On the plus side, I got my midterm project back. It was in 3 parts...Part 1 I received an A, Part 2 an A-, and Part 3 a B+. It was a definite gradual decline on my part....that's for sure. But whatever...I'll take it!
And here goes Week 9 of Week 10. Can't believe we're already winding down. Senior year is already closing to an end...I can't believe it.
