Sitting and waiting for the bus
to take everyone up to campus
we finally see it come into view
everyone lines up sit two by two
nobody looks at one another
simply stays quiet, stares straight ahead
everyone looks like robots
mechanical, programmed unwillingly,
Mute and dead like corpses
nobody's alive because they want to be
but more because they're simply waiting until
their batteries run out
Doing the same thing every day
Reading the same thing every day
Learning the same thing every day
Learning nothing new
Or even if they did, it'd be forgotten
the second they are dismissed from lecture for the day
this isn't what i'm paying $5000 in tuition for per quarter
I'm not paying this much money to not gain anything
or learn things i couldn't care less about
i just wonder
What is the point of all this?
